The Education of Fredrick Fitzell

At 30, Fred (Dylan O'Brien) is experiencing an identity crisis. After bumping into someone he met as a teenager, he begins to have terrifying flashbacks about a girl from his school who has disappeared. He realizes that the answer to this mystery may lie in a drug called Mercury and embarks on a journey into the past through the dimensions of his memory.

“The initial challenge was to determine how the issue of the existence of free will would be approached and to translate it into an engaging narrative and a deeply emotional story,” says director and screenwriter Christopher MacBride. The filmmaker also tells how lucky he was to have a talented cast involved in the plot that had been in his head for years.

Produced by Lee Kim (‘The Conspiracy’), the cast also features names like Liisa Repo-Martell (“The Ideal Girl”), Hannah Gross (“Mindhunter”) and Donald Burda (“American Gods”).
